AI Act: What changed on August 2, 2026?

Since August 2nd, new rules of the AI Act (Regulation (EU) 2024/1689), which always provided for a phased implementation, have been in effect. The Digital Omnibus on AI – Regulation (EU) 2026/1744, in force since July 27th – has altered some of the initially planned dates. The others remain unchanged.
Firstly, the transparency obligations set out in Article 50, applicable to service providers and those responsible for implementation, become applicable from that date.
Providers must ensure that systems that interact directly with people, such as chatbots and agents, indicate that the interaction is using AI, unless this is clearly evident. Providers of generative systems must... (continues in PDF)...
